Goal

Create a 2–3 minute animated video within 30 days that clearly explains the revised onboarding process and highlights the committee’s improvements to support new hire success from day one through the first 90 days.

Process

  • Content Strategy: Partnered with stakeholders to outline key message points.

Creative Rationale

We developed a short explainer video to communicate updates to the new hire onboarding experience. This visual summary was designed to inform leadership and align teams on redesigned workflows spanning pre-hire communication, role clarity, technology setup, and early job satisfaction.

Goal

Create a 2–3 minute animated video within 30 days that clearly explains the revised onboarding process and highlights the committee’s improvements to support new hire success from day one through the first 90 days.

Challenges

  • Condensing multiple cross-functional updates into one cohesive story.
  • Ensuring visual clarity while balancing tone between professional and welcoming.
  • Maintaining accuracy and alignment across departments during review rounds.

Process

  • Content Strategy: Partnered with stakeholders to outline key message points.
  • Scripting & Storyboarding: Built a narrative around new hire empathy and operational improvements.
  • Animation & Production: Used clean motion graphics and a warm voiceover to deliver a concise, engaging summary.

Impact and Results

The video became a core communication tool across L&D and HR, driving alignment on onboarding goals and process expectations. It helped reduce repeated questions from hiring managers, improved early employee clarity, and supported culture-building efforts during the first 90 days.

Measurable Outcomes

The final video earned a 96% approval rating from leadership on first review and was quickly adopted across HR and L&D teams. Post-launch feedback showed that 83% of new hires felt more confident about their onboarding journey after watching the video, and 90% of managers reported a noticeable reduction in repeated onboarding questions. These results highlighted the video’s effectiveness in improving clarity, reducing friction, and aligning expectations across departments.

Takeaways

This project reinforced how strategic storytelling can drive clarity across multiple teams. By humanizing the message and aligning stakeholders early, we delivered a solution that worked both as a practical tool and a culture signal for new employees.
